Have you got a Micro Scooter on your Christmas List?
Our family has been testing out a range of Micro Scooters, who are well known for their excellent quality scooters and accessories. We were very fortunate to be gifted an adult scooter, two kids scooters and helmets on the promise that we would put them to good use and have fun! The Micro Scooters are Swiss Designed and Engineered and being first-time users, we have to say, we are super impressed with them.
For the past month, we have been putting our scooters and helmets to good use. Inside on the tiles, playdates with friends, outside on the footpaths and at local skateparks. When family and friends are visiting, it's been hard to stop them from having a ride too. First impressions have been 'such a smooth ride', 'WOW, they even have stands', 'Finally, something fun that comes in children's and adults sizes'.
Scooting has made a comeback big time, wouldn't you agree? I remember as a kid (now we're talking!) and my cousins and I would ride on our scooters for hours and hours, and then out of nowhere the faze died off and in more recent years, it has sparked back up again. There are many different brands and designs on the market, which can be overwhelming but I can honestly say, that the Micro brand would now have to be the top of my list. I had never had the chance to test out an adult scooter, but was eager to give one a go if the opportunity came my way. Little did I know, that one was coming my way! It has been lots of fun engaging in the same activity as the kids and i'll be honest, the competitive side of me does come out for a few races. It's also been a great form of exercise and a great way to get the body moving again after having baby number three. It's nice to be able to do a form of exercise that is fun and enjoyable with the kids - they think it's pretty cool seeing their parents on a scooter too.
The adult scooter Ashton and I have been trialing is the 'Flex+' (in Matte Black). It is super stylish and incredibly smooth to ride, which makes it get great speed without a lot of force! After not riding a scooter since my younger days, I was surprised I was able to jump on and scoot straight away without tripping over or doing any serious damage! The large 200mm polyurethane kick scooter wheels are an awesome feature, making balancing easy.

Favourite features:
- It has a kick stand! It's far to pretty to be lying on the ground
- It has an easy folding action, making it really easy to transport
- It has an adjustable handlebar, allowing for a variety of heights to ride it.
Phoenix's scooter is the Mini Micro Deluxe (in Aqua) and it is so funky! I absolutely love the metallic colour and how well it is made. It is a very sturdy, unique design, which is best suited for children aged 2 - 5 years, which is easily adjusted by altering the handlebar. The helmet is the best quality helmet I have ever come across, with so much protection inside the shell and they also come in a range of funky colours and patterns. Phoenix was so excited to test out his scooter and new helmet when they arrived. I was interested to see how he would go as he hadn't really rode a scooter before, but he surprised me and got the grips of it first pop! He is still trying to get the hang of the lean-to-steer action (the same skill used for skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding), but for a three year old, I was most impressed.

Favourite features:
- The colour range is so bright and fun
- It has a wide non-slip deck which is low to the ground - less risk of hurting their wee feet
- Being a 3 wheeler, it is so stable and stands on it's own!
Memphis-Rose's scooter is the Cruiser (in Pink) and it is beautiful! The design of this scooter is unique with it's retro shaped handle bars and large 200mm wheels, which is suitable for kids aged 5 - 12, with a maximum weight of 100kg - YAY I got to have a ride on it too (going off the weight range, not the age ;).
We chose this scooter for Memphis-Rose as it is the only kids scooter with the large wheels and we thought this would be a good transition scooter coming from a three wheeler - and it has proven to be perfect for exactly that! She was able to ride it straight away, no sweat, and has only continued to gain more confidence and speed as time has gone on.
